You were just a tiny baby
When you left us for above,
So we really can't imagine
How you would look now, Love.

But probably like your Mommy,
Who's also with you there,
And so we can imagine
That you'd have golden hair.

And your smile is like your Mommy's,
For she was always glad,
At least she was till you were gone,
And then she was always sad.

But up in God's great Heaven,
You both are happy now,
And never is there one slight frown
Upon your lovely brow.

Oh, how I'd like to see you
And hold you in my arms,
And tell you how I love you,
Enchanted by your charms!

We'd celebrate your birthday
With balloons and cake and such,
And I would never leave you,
For I love you, oh, so much!

Alas, I cannot see you,
Nor hold you, either, dear,
But I can send you kisses
And lots of thoughts this year.

And someday I will join you
In God's sweet Heaven on high,
And then we'll never part again
Nor ever say goodbye.

So, Happy Birthday, Auna!
Send kisses down to me,
For I will love you, Darling,
For all eternity!
